Position Overview: Mechanical Maintenance Planner

The Mechanical Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency, quality, and safety of mechanical systems and equipment. This position is responsible for the development, standardization, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) for the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, revise, and standardize SOPs and SWPs.
  • Plan and prioritize corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects, including collaboration with contractors and equipment manufacturers.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure alignment between maintenance and stockroom operations.
  • Administer work orders, documentation, and asset management within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Provide training to staff on CMMS usage.
  • Coordinate facility-wide shutdowns effectively.
  • Lead and support ongoing maintenance and plant projects.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues, ensuring the involvement of qualified personnel.
  • Manage multiple projects across various sites while adhering to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Support operational planning for equipment purchases and project initiatives aimed at upgrades or capacity enhancements.
  • Engage in meetings to address client, engineering, and management project concerns, while gathering feedback to enhance project execution.
  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering and clients, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of supply chain impacts.
  • Participate in hazard analysis and develop Inspection and Test Plans for new equipment or modifications.
  • Advocate for safety principles in both behavior and processes.
  • Analyze production challenges related to design, operation, and performance of equipment.
  • Interpret various Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in planning related to capital expenditure projects, maintenance, or equipment/process design.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
  • Familiarity with various CMMS software.
