Position Overview

An Account Director is responsible for selling integrated media programs across our portfolio of publications, including Boston magazine, Boston Home magazine, and bostonmagazine.com. This role will focus on our second-largest category, home, as well as two to three other categories such as real estate, medical, legal, finance, or travel.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals for assigned products
  • Develop a deep understanding of all Boston magazine products, with a particular expertise in assigned categories
  • Actively work with existing customers to grow their spend, while prospecting for new business based on assigned categories
  • Provide consultative sales support to clients and prospects, understanding their marketing objectives and challenges
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, managing our brand presence and activity
  • Maintain active communication with account coordinators to ensure successful completion of issue closes, projects, and other work related to meeting customer expectations
Requirements
  • Three to five years of sales experience in media advertising sales or digital agency media buying/planning
  • A deep understanding of the digital advertising landscape, including targeting tactics, product recommendations, and campaign performance recaps
  • High-level brand storytelling skills and a passion for presenting to clients and advertising agencies
  • An ability to develop and sell creative solutions to category clients' business challenges
  • Willingness to manage business, forecast, and meet sales quotas through the company CRM
  • Familiarity with the Boston market a plus
