Job Title: Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting to join our team at InterContinental Boston. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operation of the hotel, ensuring all functions are performed accurately and on a timely basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing revenues received and dispersed, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, receiving, and payroll.
  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by company policy and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices, and as affected by local conditions.
  • Prepare financial analyses of hotel operations, including variance explanation, and make recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts; ensure compliance with government regulations, federal, state, and local laws.
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting and financial management skills, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including hotel department heads, directors, and external contacts.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including accounting and budgeting tools.
