About the Emergency Department
The Emergency Department at Corewell Health is recognized as a certified primary stroke center and a Level III trauma facility. We are equipped with 18 stretcher care areas, catering to both adult and pediatric patients. Annually, we manage approximately 28,000 patient visits, including around 5,000 pediatric cases. Our cohesive team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care, as evidenced by our high patient experience ratings.
Role Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse in our Emergency Services is responsible for delivering nursing care with accountability and professionalism, adhering to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the State of Michigan. The role requires proficiency in the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholding the standards of professional performance, the nurse will engage in ethical practice, culturally sensitive care, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and resource management to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required upon hire.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing must be completed within five years.
- Current Michigan RN license required upon hire.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC required within 90 days.
- ACLS and PALS certifications from AHA required within 180 days.
- ENPC and TNCC certifications required within one year.
Work Schedule
This position is part-time, primarily during night shifts, with variable days and a commitment to every other weekend.
