Position Overview:
As an Admissions Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the admissions process for incoming hospice patients. You will also provide education to potential patients, their families, and caregivers about the advantages of hospice care, guiding them through a challenging period.

Salary Range: The compensation for the Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) position ranges from $33.49 to $44.58, with a sign-on bonus available. Recent nursing graduates are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities of the Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) include:
- Assessing whether the patient qualifies for admission into the hospice program through visual contact, interviews with the patient and family, and gathering medical history through direct interaction and chart review when necessary;
- Conducting the initial assessment during the admissions process to address the immediate care needs of the patient and family;
- Managing the admission and transfer process with patients and families, which includes explaining hospice services, insurance benefits, and completing necessary paperwork and consents;
- Providing education and support related to symptom management and the physical aspects of end-of-life care for patients, families, caregivers, and/or facility teams as appropriate;
- Communicating the immediate needs of patients, families, and caregivers, along with significant issues related to the IDG Care Plan, to the assigned Registered Nurse Case Manager and on-call staff as needed;
- Consulting with physicians for appropriate orders and assisting in procuring necessary supplies, equipment, medications, and other services.
Qualifications for the Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) include:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Michigan;
- Preferred two years of recent clinical experience, although recent nursing graduates are also welcome to apply. Experience in homecare or hospice is desirable;
- Strong clinical judgment;
- Knowledge and/or experience in pain symptom management and end-of-life care.
