Your role will involve a deep understanding of business operations, creating tools, metrics, and processes that deliver insights to inspire action and foster improvements. You will ensure that information is precise, pertinent, and actionable, easily comprehensible to a diverse audience of stakeholders.

You will engage regularly with all levels of staff, delivering insightful, forward-looking reports and analyses.

Lush operates as a fully integrated business encompassing Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Digital, and Administrative sectors. While all sectors are interconnected, this position primarily focuses on the Administrative teams. You will be instrumental in all budgeting and forecasting workflows for these teams.

As a dynamic organization, Lush seeks individuals who can adapt and evolve in response to business needs.

You are an attentive listener with a systematic approach to planning, yet you are also eager to facilitate discussions that lead to actionable outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Lead Financial Strategist will:

  • Act as a financial partner to the Administrative teams, delivering quality, relevant, and timely financial support to the stream and the organization.
  • Transform data into compelling narratives that highlight trends and impacts actionable by the business.
  • Conduct month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for Administration, providing insights into financial performance, key drivers, changes against the plan, and emerging opportunities and risks.
  • Oversee monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of forecasting models to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Proactively assess and develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to uncover actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how these metrics drive financial enhancements.
  • Lead the development and refinement of centralized tools and dashboards for business users to gain clear insights into their performance and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide decision support, impact assessments, and return on investment (ROI) analyses for evaluating projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance financial literacy across the organization by effectively communicating financial concepts in an easily digestible manner for all stakeholders.
  • Offer peer support, guidance, and development opportunities to team members.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of processes and deliverables.
  • Support any ad-hoc analysis projects, modeling, and presentation materials as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other ERP systems) and/or Adaptive forecasting software is considered an asset.
- Experience in dashboarding, analysis, and visualizations through PowerBI.
- Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem-solving abilities, with a thorough understanding of financial statements and their influencing factors.
- A proven, collaborative, and inclusive approach to business support.
- High proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Proactive mindset and initiative.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to learn, understand, and align with Lush's core brand values.

Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in vertically integrated operations.
- Formal education or relevant experience in project management.

Work Environment:
This is a regular, full-time hybrid position requiring 1-2 days on-site.
