Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at CEENTA. The successful candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to our physicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to physicians, including preparing patients for exams, obtaining medical histories, and documenting patient information.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ordering supplies.
  • Perform preliminary ophthalmic work-ups, including visual assessments, pupil assessments, and tonometry.
  • Assist with patient examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures as needed.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.
  • Respond to patient questions and prescription refill requests via phone or electronic messaging system.
  • Manage physician schedules and maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years' experience as an ophthalmic assistant or in a related field preferred.
  • Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification from the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
Work Environment

The Ophthalmic Assistant will work in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic with high patient volume. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly with patients and staff, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
