About the Role

Puffer-Sweiven is seeking a highly skilled Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers, identifying business opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal and Quote Development: Prepare and submit proposals or quotes for represented petrochemical/refining application solutions, including valve engineering, delivery, and pricing.
  • Account Management: Assist Outside Sales in achieving strategic goals of assigned accounts and interact with customers on a day-to-day basis to provide technical, commercial, and general sales support.
  • Customer Requirements Management: Develop customer requirements and identify opportunities to add value, uplift margin, and expand scope of product supply.
  • Order Management: Manage change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders, reducing non-conformance and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Post-Award Activities: Proactively follow up with customers on quotations, achieving a high rate of conversion to orders and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Team Support: Take appropriate oversight of sales assistants in order entry, determination of item delivery status, and order expediting.
  • Workload Management: Manage workload and engage available internal and external resources as required to meet customer-imposed deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Continually develop and maintain a high level of technical proficiency with products and services represented.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and suggest improvements to team processes and tools that will improve efficiency and increase customer dependency.
Requirements
  • Education: BS/BA degree preferred or combination of applicable education and experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years as an Inside sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment. Previous valve experience is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Skills: Strong PC proficiency, including MS Office, principal supplied tools, internal business system, and internet. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
