Position Overview:
Editas Medicine is on the lookout for a driven and innovative bioanalytical Research Associate to become a vital part of our DMPK, Nonclinical Safety, and Translational Sciences (DSTS) team.

In this position, you will report to the Senior Scientist of Molecular Bioanalytics and play a key role in supporting ADME, biodistribution, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), and bioanalytical initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include executing stage-appropriate molecular bioanalytical assays to support DMPK, toxicity, biodistribution, and PK/PD studies.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Research Associate, your duties will encompass:

  • Independently conducting routine workflows for bioanalytical method development and sample analysis utilizing molecular bioanalytical assays (e.g., qPCR, ddPCR) for non-clinical quantitative bioanalysis.
  • Designing, executing, and analyzing experimental results while effectively communicating findings.
  • Developing nucleic acid extraction (DNA/RNA) and quantification from a diverse range of animal tissues.
  • Implementing bioanalytical assay development strategies to characterize ADME, pharmacokinetics, and biodistribution properties of drug products while addressing critical scientific inquiries.
  • Ensuring the highest quality and timely generation of data.
  • Writing bioanalytical assay protocols, ROPs/SOPs.
  • Exemplifying the behaviors of a strong technical contributor and team player.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Maintaining compliance with electronic notebooks (ELN), ensuring high data integrity and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in conducting quantitative bioanalysis using molecular bioanalytical techniques such as qPCR and ddPCR to support discovery and development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and analyze experimental results while effectively communicating them.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in establishing molecular bioanalytical methods for various therapeutic modalities, particularly in preclinical development.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, along with exceptional scientific thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with gene editing or gene delivery technologies and lipid nanoparticle delivery is highly desirable.
