Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Manager to join our team at Williston Parks & Recreation. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our community centers and recreational facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Ensure the facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained, including daily walk-throughs and creation of cleaning routines for staff.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train full-time and part-time staff, as well as community service volunteers, to ensure they are meeting the high standards of our facilities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent in completing work tickets and maintaining equipment, including power equipment and hand tools.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to members and guests, and support staff in delivering high-quality service.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with inventory control and security, including tracking and submitting employee payroll for part-time employees.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the overall safety and security of staff, members, guests, and facilities, including attending emergencies and safety meetings.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, including knowledge of maintenance of facilities, equipment operation and maintenance procedures, and skill in the operation and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Current CPR Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, and a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicles or equipment operated.
  • Physical and Mental Abilities: Essential physical and mental capabilities, including interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing, and innovation.
Working Conditions

The work is typically performed indoors, occasionally outside in the cold or inclement weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, irritating chemicals, and machinery with moving parts. The work requires the use of protective devices such as gloves, masks, or goggles.

The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, and uses tools or equipment that require a high degree of dexterity.

Ability to work weeknights and weekends as needed, and ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds or heavier lifting with other employees. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
