Role Overview
The Lead Cybersecurity Quality Assurance Engineer plays a pivotal role in the software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with application development and quality assurance teams. Reporting to the Cybersecurity Lead, this position is essential for ensuring the security of our web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive manual and automated security testing protocols for web and mobile applications.
- Conduct penetration testing, analyze results, and document findings.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities, detailing methods and entry points that could be exploited by malicious actors.
- Collaborate with development and quality control teams to establish acceptance criteria and assess risks for upcoming features and releases.
- Contribute to the development of Threat Models and Data Flow Diagrams.
- Engage in troubleshooting and analysis of applications in production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in software testing, automation, or cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a regulated industry, preferably healthcare.
- Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in software test scripting and automation.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and common types of cyber threats.
- Experience with penetration testing and adversarial emulation.
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and Common Vulnerability Enumeration (CVE), as well as threat modeling using STRIDE.
