Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Estimator / Project Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Generating precise and detailed cost estimates for civil, landscape, and irrigation construction projects, encompassing material, labor, and overhead expenses.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date cost database reflecting recent project expenditures.
  • Collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to collect necessary information for accurate cost assessments.
  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and documentation to comprehend project requirements and limitations.
  • Creating bid schedules and pay line items for construction bids and contract value establishment.
  • Formulating scope of work and special provisions for incorporation into construction contracts.
  • Assisting in both private and public bidding processes, including managing advertisements, pre-bid meetings, and bid openings.
  • Conducting construction administrative tasks such as material submittal and shop drawing reviews, RFI tracking, and on-site construction observations.
  • Utilizing industry-standard scheduling software to plan and monitor construction activities.
  • Coordinating project tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Acting as a liaison among project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitoring project timelines and deliverables, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Managing project budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Facilitating communication across various project teams and departments to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Preparing comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Generating regular status updates for project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or substantial experience in the civil construction field.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in civil construction estimation across diverse project complexities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, providing constructability and value engineering reviews.
  • Basic knowledge of construction law and accepted business practices.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Construction Management Software (Procore preferred).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil3D and AGTEK earthwork estimating software is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 DOE + Bonus Opportunities
