Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Estimator / Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating precise and detailed cost estimates for civil, landscape, and irrigation construction projects, encompassing material, labor, and overhead expenses.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date cost database with recent project construction expenses.
  • Collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to collect essential information for accurate cost estimation.
  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and documentation to comprehend project requirements and limitations.
  • Developing bid schedules of values and payment line items for construction bids and contract value establishment.
  • Formulating scopes of work and project-specific provisions for inclusion in construction contract documents.
  • Assisting in both private and public bidding processes, including coordinating advertisements, pre-bid meetings, bid openings, and communication with bidders.
  • Performing administrative tasks related to construction, such as reviewing and tracking material submittals and shop drawings, managing requests for information (RFI), and conducting periodic on-site observations.
  • Utilizing industry-standard scheduling software to plan and monitor construction activities.
  • Coordinating project tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Acting as a liaison among project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitoring project timelines and deliverables, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges to ensure project success.
  • Tracking and managing project budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Facilitating communication across various project teams and departments to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Preparing comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Generating regular status updates and reports for project stakeholders.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or significant experience in a related civil construction field.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction estimation across projects of varying complexity.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, providing constructability and value engineering assessments.
  • Basic knowledge of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Construction Management Software (Procore preferred).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil3D and AGTEK earthwork estimating software is preferred.
  • Possession of a current valid driver's license.
Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 DOE + Bonus Opportunities
