Job Overview

Position Title: IT Field Support Specialist

Job Summary:
As a critical member of our team, the IT Field Support Specialist is responsible for delivering Tier 2 and 3 technical assistance both on-site and remotely for various computing devices, including workstations, servers, printers, and teleconferencing systems. This role involves conducting site assessments, documenting existing configurations, and determining user requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive troubleshooting, repair, and testing for computer workstations, servers, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Install and configure hardware and software systems, ensuring optimal performance of all equipment.
  • Maintain and support government and vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexers, and telephone systems.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, utilizing ticketing systems for documentation and support.
  • Assist in network upgrade projects and address end-user connectivity requirements.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, along with two to four years of relevant experience, and hold a Security + Certification. Alternatively, an Associate's degree in a technical discipline with two years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field is acceptable.

Certifications: Candidates must have one of the following 8570 certifications: A+ CE, NET+ CE, or SSCP.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics effectively.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in providing remote support to end-users.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory security protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company vehicle.
  • Availability to work an 8-hour shift between 6 AM and 6 PM as determined by management.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that may include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, as well as occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling in confined spaces.

Security Clearance: A TS/SCI polygraph clearance is required for this position.
