Position Title: Senior Information Security Systems Officer - Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/SCI

Job Overview:

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Information Security Systems Officer (ISSO) with a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a background of 2 to 5 years in roles such as ISSO, System Administrator, or Network Administrator to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular assessments of information systems to verify adherence to security protocols.
  • Assist in the development of both physical and logical system architectures, supporting the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Receive a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

A Typical Week:

  • Prepare, evaluate, and revise security authorization packages, ensuring that approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and disposing of hardware and media are followed.
  • Perform security impact analyses and provide insights to the ISSM regarding all configuration management alterations.
  • Coordinate any modifications to system hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Oversee system recovery operations to confirm that security features and procedures are effectively restored and operational.
  • Ensure that all information security documentation is up-to-date and accessible to authorized personnel, while also collecting, reviewing, and documenting audit records.
  • Execute the cybersecurity segment of self-inspections, providing security oversight and reviewing all system assessment strategies.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing countermeasures, preparing reports on the status of security measures applied to systems.

Job Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance and eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAP), with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP), along with MCSA and CCNA certifications.
  • DoD Information Assurance Manager II certification (e.g., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, HCISSP).
  • Extensive experience in maintaining the operational security posture of information systems, collaborating closely with the ISSM and Information Security Officer (ISO).
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD policies related to system and network administration.
  • Strong grasp of network security principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to resolve technical issues swiftly and identify opportunities for process automation.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800 series and DoDI/D 8500 series.

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel (not exceeding 14 days per trip).
