Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Information Security Systems Engineer involves supporting specialized access programs (SAPs) related to acquisition initiatives.

This position will deliver daily support for various classified and sensitive information activities, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards for system evaluation and authorization.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Oversee the formulation, execution, and assessment of information system security policies, with a focus on integrating with existing SAP network frameworks.

2. Collaborate with a team of System Security Engineers and Certification Analysts to ensure the protection of national and international security interests during the design and testing of support equipment.

3. Engage with customer and SAP community information assurance working groups and participate in system security engineering reviews.

4. Provide expert consultation and technical services on all facets of information security.

5. Review system security engineering designs and offer compliance recommendations.

6. Develop and present information assurance risk management strategies to clients.

7. Support the design and development of mission and training systems.

8. Assist in the creation and upkeep of the Program Protection Plan and Cybersecurity Strategy.

9. Participate in site activation activities and design evaluations.

10. Represent the Government Program Manager in various security-related working groups and advisory councils.


Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (4 years).

• A total of 6 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a sensitive compartmented information (SCI) or special access program (SAP) environment. A minimum of 1 year of relevant SAP experience is highly preferred.

• Must fulfill position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 and Information Assurance Manager Level 1 within 6 months of hire.

• Familiarity with security policies/manuals and relevant ICDs/JAFANs/DOD Manuals.

• Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation, along with legacy processes.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with various DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.

• Willingness to travel within the organizational area of responsibility.


Security Clearance:

• Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Eligibility for access to Special Access Program information.

• Willingness to undergo a counterintelligence polygraph examination.


Preferred Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

• Demonstrates a high level of creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

• Willingness to travel as required.


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.

• Occasionally move within the office to access files and equipment.

• Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery.

• Frequently communicate with colleagues and clients, which may involve delivering presentations.


Compensation and Benefits:

The projected salary range for this position is $111,400-$185,700. Various factors can influence the final salary, including relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
