Position Overview:

The Linux Systems Administrator is tasked with supporting LAN/WAN and help desk administration functions, which include network upkeep, technical support, and security measures in collaboration with the Technology Infrastructure team. The primary goal is to leverage infrastructure technology expertise and established policies to manage data, troubleshoot issues, and perform administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop intricate project plans, conduct impact assessments, address high-impact challenges, and implement solutions to restore services.
  • Deliver Root Cause Analysis (RCA) following service restoration.
  • Design testing methodologies, complex workflows, reporting mechanisms, and assist in automating repetitive tasks.
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to team members.
  • Review requirement specifications, define hardware needs, and update processes and protocols as required.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee applications related to the overall operating system.
  • Conduct research pertinent to projects.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Exhibit independence in judgment and autonomy.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Assess risks associated with business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux operating systems and related tools.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or others.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and/or Chef.
  • Understanding of how specialization within the field contributes to business objectives and knowledge of competitors' offerings.
  • Capability to develop projects aimed at designing metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking activities, and best practices.
  • Able to collaborate with virtual and in-person teams and perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a Financial Services or large-scale global environment is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Skilled in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Clustering experience is preferred.
