Job Title: Manager of Transportation Engineering Planning

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Transportation Engineering Planning to join our team at Catapult. As a key member of our Transportation Group, you will be responsible for leading the planning team, managing transportation planners, and coordinating with clients to deliver high-quality planning services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the planning team, setting schedules and assigning tasks to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project schedule adherence and team responsibilities, ensuring that all planning tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with good planning codes and practice.
  • Develop project strategy, identifying milestones, planning techniques, stakeholders, schedule, and overall project objectives.
  • Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
  • Manage projects by coordinating with the client, directing the planning process, and coordinating the project team, which may include other disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation planning, with a strong understanding of transportation engineering concepts, principles, theories, and methods.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, with knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and professional standards related to transportation.
  • GIS software experience, required. NEPA/SEPA experience, required. American Institute of Certified Planning (AICP) credentials or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership experience, preferred.
  • NCDOT experience, preferred.
