Role Responsibilities

A Behavioral Health Technician plays a crucial role in assisting and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, from admission to discharge. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing therapeutic interventions, and guiding patients through the treatment process. The Tech team is available to patients around the clock, making vigilant monitoring and communication with the treatment team essential.

  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and organizational proprietary information.
  • Assist with patient daily needs as per the program schedule.
  • Support nursing staff with assigned tasks, such as patient supervision and vital signs monitoring.
  • Recognize and respond to crisis situations, providing necessary interventions.
  • Consistently arrive on time and prepared for duty.
  • Provide indirect and selected direct patient care as directed.
  • Conduct intake processes and complete necessary documentation.
  • Monitor patient activities and document significant issues.
  • Perform regular facility checks and report any safety concerns.
  • Notify leadership of health and safety issues or unusual occurrences immediately.
  • Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift.
  • Perform basic housekeeping tasks.
  • Facilitate and lead daily group sessions as directed.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete online training and maintain an updated employee file.
  • Monitor self-administration of patient medications if applicable.
  • Provide transportation services as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Tuesday to Saturday, 7 AM to 3 PM.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License if applicable.
  • Minimum of 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of documenting in electronic systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire, with annual recertification.
  • De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire, with yearly recertification.
  • Medication training within 30 days of hire if applicable.
