Medication Technician

Job Summary:
The Medication Technician provides direct resident care and medication services in an assisted living and memory care community. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and promoting a positive living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and assist with the self-administration of routine and non-routine medications in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.
- Process physician medication and treatment orders, maintaining accurate records of medication and treatment services provided or omitted.
- Coordinate with pharmacies for medication orders and refills, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medications.
- Report all medication errors and incidents to the Health Services Director and physician, maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
- Provide direct resident care, promoting dignity, independence, and choice, while observing residents' physical and mental conditions and reporting changes to the Health Services Director.
- Assist with or provide care services as directed by the resident's cooperative service plan, ensuring a positive and supportive living environment.
Requirements:
- One or more years of personal care experience with older adults, preferably in an assisted living or memory care setting.
- State required medication pass certification or other required certification, delegation, and training requirements.
- Current CPR certification, First Aid training, and Food Handlers permit as required by state regulations.
