Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care Holdings, Inc. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with hemodialysis treatment, including setting up and operating dialysis machines
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
- Perform vascular access cannulation and report any difficulties or unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
- Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
- Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion and perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment
- Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures
- Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification or High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
- Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the FMCNA dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification
