Position Overview:

Nightwing is a leader in the cybersecurity sector, dedicated to safeguarding our clients' digital assets. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced penetration tester to enhance our Cyber Defense team. This role will focus on planning, executing, and reporting on red team operations, penetration tests, and security evaluations across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement penetration testing strategies for both internal and external network infrastructures to uncover and illustrate potential security weaknesses.
  • Engage in comprehensive technical assessments that go beyond automated tools, including full exploitation and access within diverse environments such as cloud services and various operating systems.
  • Develop detailed engagement documentation, clearly outlining findings, vulnerabilities, and actionable remediation strategies; effectively communicate risks to stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing research in information technology security to stay abreast of emerging threats and devise innovative exploitation techniques that mimic known adversarial tactics.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of penetration testing tools and methodologies, ensuring that our approaches are effective, measurable, and repeatable.
  • Utilize both internal and external intelligence resources to analyze threats and vulnerabilities, providing insights into potential attack vectors.
  • Deliver regular risk assessments to senior leadership, outlining findings and proposing strategies to bolster the organization's cybersecurity framework.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance operational services.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to drive continuous improvement in processes and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 10 years in cybersecurity, or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of pertinent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in security, particularly in penetration testing for large-scale enterprise networks and cloud environments.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in information security principles and computer science.
  • Proficient understanding of cloud computing, networking, application security, and operating system functionalities.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research using diverse sources, including social media analysis.
  • Experience with penetration testing frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and OWASP.
  • Familiarity with web and mobile applications, databases, and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with operating system configuration and administration.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in application manipulation, exploit development, and stealth operations.
  • Programming experience focused on penetration testing or automation processes.
