Position Summary

This role is integral to our assembly team, focusing on the production of a diverse range of MDI products while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The individual in this position will also take on supervisory responsibilities as required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, notching, punching, clipping, assembling, and packaging materials (sewing and wiring as applicable).
  • Utilize an array of hand tools and machinery such as air units, double ram presses, hand drills, belt sanders, hand files, staple guns, glue guns, banders, and foam machines.
  • Ensure the completion of tasks in accordance with the Work Center Supervisor's directives and the information provided in the shop packet.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Assemblers to guarantee that each phase of the assembly process is executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and utilize measuring instruments such as tape measures and calipers to ensure precision in work.
  • Conduct setup and quality inspections, completing sign-off worksheets to verify the accuracy of work.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the work center and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform backup supervisory duties, including updating production metrics, managing inventory checklists, reviewing production schedules, assembling shop packets, issuing finished goods, and overseeing staff.
  • Assist in cross-training team members to bolster efficiency and knowledge within the work center.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring that equipment is kept in optimal condition.
  • Participate in safety training and uphold compliance with all company safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor that reflects the Company Core Values and leads by example.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment to achieve assigned objectives.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with metrology and the ability to utilize various inspection tools for measurements within 1/16th of an inch.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, particularly in light assembly, is advantageous.
Computer Proficiency
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
  • Familiarity with Lotus and Mac-Pac software.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand and utilize hands and arms to manipulate parts. Frequent walking is necessary, with occasional stooping or kneeling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment may expose the employee to moving mechanical parts and vibrations, with a generally loud noise level. Ear protection is mandated in designated areas.
