Position Overview:

The Inpatient Care Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative, human resource, and financial aspects of the inpatient and observation units. This role requires collaboration with the nursing leadership team to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Working within a prestigious academic medical center recognized for excellence, the manager will direct daily operations in alignment with established clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff levels and ensuring quality care delivery in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Participating in strategic planning to align departmental goals with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Mentoring nursing staff to foster a culture of excellence and innovation in patient care.
  • Leading initiatives to implement evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety and care quality.

This position also involves participation in an on-call rotation as needed and the performance of additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required, or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing combined with a Bachelor’s in a healthcare-related field and a Master’s Degree in Nursing. A minimum of three years of nursing experience demonstrating leadership and clinical competencies is essential.

Skills and Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, financial management, quality improvement, and patient safety standards. Strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills are crucial for success in this role. Proficiency in relevant software applications and the ability to manage multiple priorities are also required.

Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, think critically, and maintain professionalism under pressure. Effective communication in English, both written and verbal, is necessary for this position.


Licensure and Certifications:
An active California Registered Nurse License is mandatory, along with Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association. Other certifications may be required based on departmental needs.
