Job Overview

Position Title: Supply Clerk

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, unpack, and examine incoming shipments for any discrepancies or damages, reporting findings to the relevant personnel.
  • Maintain precise inventory records, detailing quantities, locations, and descriptions, utilizing inventory management software.
  • Distribute supplies, materials, and equipment to departmental staff, documenting issuance details to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
  • Conduct routine inventory audits and participate in annual physical inventory counts to confirm stock levels and identify any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for stock replenishment, including obtaining quotes and coordinating with vendors for timely delivery.
  • Organize and uphold the cleanliness and efficiency of storage areas, ensuring items are stored safely and are easily accessible.
  • Coordinate the disposal of surplus, obsolete, or damaged equipment and supplies in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new inventory control procedures to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a supply clerk.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning methods.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

WORK LOCATION & HOURS

The position is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Hours will align with the core hours of the Department of State.

OVERTIME POLICY

No overtime funding will be available.
