Job Description

Gilead Sciences is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Marketing Fundamentals Training to join our team. As a key member of our marketing excellence training team, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of global marketing training content, including marketing fundamentals, to all affiliates, including the US.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry, with advanced experience in curriculum development, project management, executive presence, facilitation expertise, and a deep understanding of adult learning principles.

You will work closely with US and Affiliate Commercial Learning & Development to develop and enhance fundamental marketing training that is fit-for-future, review existing training programs related to marketing, and determine viability for reuse or adaptation at a global level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering global marketing training content, including marketing fundamentals, to all affiliates, including the US.
  • Working with global stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes and the required behaviors, skills, and knowledge needed by different roles to deliver them.
  • Determining content changes required for existing training curricula or working with external vendors to design and build new global content.
  • Incorporating motivating, creative, and interactive training techniques to enhance the training experience and maximize learning and retention.
  • Ensuring competencies and corresponding training to achieve competitiveness and operational excellence.
  • Leading regional/local training activities for new/early-stage career marketers.
  • Building relationships and engaging with senior executives and functional stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that strategic plans, goals, and objectives are documented, communicated, reviewed, and evaluated continuously.
  • Ensuring stakeholders are engaged throughout training development, continuously incorporating feedback to ensure relevance and inclusion.

The ideal candidate will have excellent influencing skills, managing without direct power, strong leadership, self-direction, comfort, and experience tackling ambiguous and complex problems. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from various cultures and disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience
  • Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience
  • PhD and Eight Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling training to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect and align stakeholders of diverse backgrounds.

Salary Range:

$205,000 - $266,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
