Job Summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to congenital cardiac surgical patients, working closely with medical and surgical colleagues to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-op evaluations, consultations, and assist in surgical consenting and teaching.
  • Perform daily rounds on ICU patients and coverage of surgical ICU emergencies and procedures.
  • Develop post-op care plans and prepare patients and families for discharge.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year of cardiac surgery operating room and/or critical care experience.
  • Possess a solid medical knowledge base for cardiopulmonary critical care medicine with an interest in congenital cardiac anomalies.
  • Possess critical thinking skills and adaptability on a busy cardiac surgery service.
  • Communication skills to work collaboratively with medical and surgical colleagues, staff, and trainees.
  • A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant.
