We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Hand and Plastic Surgery department at Boston Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our experienced Plastic Surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide medical services, including obtaining medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering laboratory tests and imaging studies.
- Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery or other invasive procedures.
- Counsel patients and families, and perform other patient care duties.
- Collaborate with attending physicians to admit, evaluate, treat, and discharge patients.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, immunizations, wound care, and suturing.
- Assist in the delivery of services to patients requiring continuing care.
- Educate patients and families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications.
- Must hold a Bachelor degree in any field and be a graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Physician Assistant Program.
- Nationally Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and duly licensed as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts.
- Prior experience in a surgical or plastic surgery setting is preferred.
