IT Technician I

McFarlane Aviation Products is a leading manufacturer of high-quality aircraft parts, and we're seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our team. As an IT Technician I, you will play a critical role in maintaining our IT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and functionality of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide timely and effective first-line technical support for desktops, mobile devices, networks, and phone systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network problems for end-users.
  • VoIP and Network Expertise: Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VoIP phone systems, including configuring extensions, managing call flows, and resolving voice-related issues.
  • Network Infrastructure: Support and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Security: Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring that all systems adhere to security policies and best practices.
  • System Audits: Conduct regular system and security audits, applying necessary patches and updates.
  • User Support: Assist with setting up user accounts, permissions, and security settings in alignment with company policies.
  • Documentation: Document all issues, resolutions, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow IT team members and users to ensure smooth deployment of new technologies, tools, and upgrades.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Experience in a help desk or technical support role, with knowledge of networking, phone systems (VoIP), and security.
  • Networking Knowledge: Strong knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, etc.).
  • VoIP Expertise: Experience with VoIP phone systems (configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting).
  • Security Knowledge: Familiarity with firewalls, security policies, and best practices for securing an IT environment.
  • Operating System: Proficiency with Windows operating system.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on teamwork.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-focused attitude and commitment to providing outstanding technical support.
