Job Description:


This Human Resources Specialist - Emergency Management role is responsible for independently performing complex analytical work in the administration of Cal OES' personnel management programs. Key duties include classification and pay, hiring assistance, recruitment, allocations, reporting structures, position justifications, and special projects related to Human Resources.



Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • At least 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a public sector setting;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency in HR systems and software, including CalHR's HRMS system.
