Job Summary

Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterans Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) program, you will play a critical role in providing supportive services to Veterans and their families, helping them achieve and maintain housing stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Effectively assist participants to achieve and maintain housing stability by coordinating and/or providing supportive services, including needs assessment, individualized housing stability plans, and monitoring participant progress.
  • Service Coordination: Interpret and explain information, such as eligibility requirements, application details, and program-specific information, to participants and other stakeholders.
  • Resource Development: Determine participant household needs and priorities, gather and record relevant information, and coordinate services to improve housing stability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with department and contracted community agencies to ensure Individual Housing Plans are achieved, and participate in meetings and staffings to promote and review case management efforts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all paperwork and related activities are entered, current, accurate, and in compliance in a timely manner.
  • Professional Development: Seek new sources of revenue that align with Goodwill's mission and strategic plan, and participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Valid driver's license, personal auto insurance, and ability to pass background and driver record checks; excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
