POSITION SUMMARY: Solar Operations Supervisor
The primary role of the Solar Operations Supervisor is to oversee the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) functions to ensure the optimal performance of solar energy systems. This position is crucial for tracking compliance with contractual obligations, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a seamless workflow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead teams of solar technicians and repair personnel to fulfill all warranty repairs and service requests within established service levels and budget constraints.
- Provide first and second level diagnostics for all service inquiries related to solar systems.
- Coordinate logistics including materials, inventory, fleet management, technicians, and maintenance needs to meet service level objectives for system repairs.
- Act as the Responsible Managing Employee in the assigned region/state.
- Oversee the completion of physical projects, including the acquisition of necessary permits.
- Manage field operations to service systems, utilizing both internal resources and partner technicians.
- Handle all customer warranty and insurance claims efficiently.
- Deliver product and service training to customers and partners.
- Oversee service and work order management.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process modifications or enhancements to ensure maximum efficiency of company assets.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Solid understanding of residential electrical systems and home construction.
- Exceptional written communication skills for effective interaction with all management levels.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent judgment in customer relations and resource management.
- Able to collaborate effectively as a team member and engage with various departments.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a remote position requiring fieldwork, with an estimated travel time of 20% based on job site locations. A valid driver's license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance will be provided for larger items.
- Capacity to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
- Work postures may include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects at various heights.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Electrical training with a Master Electrician License or equivalent in the state of residency.
- Experience in a related field with a minimum number of years in a managerial role overseeing multiple reports.
- Current, valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications in other states as necessary.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Extensive experience in customer service.
