About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Steward to join our team at the University of Southern California. As a Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our dining facilities, ensuring a positive experience for our guests, students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests
  • Maintain the cleanliness of facilities, equipment, tools, utensils, and other areas, including floor waxing, floor scrubbing, and carpet cleaning
  • Perform general maintenance work, including safe handling procedures for chemicals
  • Assist in kitchen sanitation programs and adhere to standard food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required
  • Report to station, ready to work at the scheduled start time
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum Experience: 0-6 months
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Demonstrated customer service experience, experience working in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, knowledge of mechanical equipment operation, and general maintenance repair work
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid CA driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Experience: 1 year in a restaurant or high-volume banquet and catering operation
