Electrical Engineer Job Summary

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Facilities Management Services team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems for the university's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering analysis and design for assigned projects
• Develop documentation in the form of drawings and specifications for bid and construction
• Ensure project drawings and specifications comply with university standards and specifications and federal, state, and local requirements
• Provide construction phase support such as review of submittals, documents interpretation, and field observation
• Develop, monitor, and implement policies, processes, standards, and guidelines for various facility systems such as electrical, mechanical, or plumbing systems to maintain quality control of project types and sizes
• Recommend best industry practices in support of improving unit processes for meeting user needs
• Serve as program manager for Facilities Management Services (FMS) related programs and all individual projects encapsulated in programs
• Provide leadership and direction on all project operations and activities such as the design, plan, schedule, and scope of services
• Identify appropriate strategies to ensure delivery of quality of services with available resources
• Provide technical expertise and support and management to Facilities Management Services (FMS) as it relates to utility infrastructure, energy management, and environmental compliance
• Interpret federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance with existing regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design and operation, or a combination of education and experience
• Professional Engineering license (PE) a plus
• Experience in facilities management and/or installation/construction experience specifically related to mechanical trade a plus
• Valid State Driver's License
