Position Overview: The GSSO Operations Excellence team is in search of a highly skilled Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt to spearhead transformative process enhancement initiatives and implement superior operational practices throughout the organization.
Role Responsibilities: As a practitioner of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a genuine catalyst for organizational change, this position will actively work to dismantle barriers, challenge conventional practices, and empower cross-functional teams to refine processes, elevate customer experiences, and foster sustainable growth.
This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that inform pivotal decision-making and bolster the company's long-term objectives.
Key Duties Include:
- Acting as the subject matter expert on Lean Six Sigma principles, tools, and techniques.
- Leading the design, development, and execution of Lean Six Sigma projects and programs.
- Mentoring and coaching Lean Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts within the organization.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive Lean Six Sigma project pipeline to drive ongoing enhancements.
- Analyzing and mapping current processes to pinpoint bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas ripe for improvement.
- Utilizing advanced data analysis and statistical tools to assess process performance and promote data-driven decision-making.
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of process improvements.
- Partnering with technology, data, market, and engineering teams to integrate technology-enabled solutions for improved efficiency.
- Aligning Lean Six Sigma initiatives with the overarching global services strategy and operational goals.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to standardize and harmonize processes across the organization's global operations.
- Formulating and executing change management strategies to ensure the successful adoption of operational enhancements.
- Collaborating with senior leadership to articulate and communicate the vision for operational excellence.
- Establishing best practices, playbooks, and knowledge-sharing platforms to scale successful initiatives.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Engaging in significant initiatives that define the long-term data strategy and vision to meet evolving customer needs.
- Demonstrating strong analytical skills, resourcefulness, and a customer-centric approach while driving alignment across product features, business strategies, and operational goals.
- Managing strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and identifying customer requirements through data analysis, customer feedback, and user research.
- Overseeing multiple projects, including planning, prioritization, and task delegation, while collaborating closely with data engineers and scientists throughout product launches.

AWS Global Services (GS), established in 2022, ensures customer success throughout the cloud adoption lifecycle. With over 25,000 employees and integrated offerings, we leverage technology and human expertise to maximize customer outcomes.
GS comprises four main business units: 1) Global Services Security (GSS) provides security guidance and offerings, 2) Training & Certification (T&C) delivers cloud skills training and certification, 3) Professional Services (ProServe) offers consulting and hands-on services, and 4) Support and AWS Managed Services (Support) provides 24/7 technical support and managed services.
Together, these teams continually enhance our systems and processes to achieve better results for both customers and employees, with the GS Strategy & Operations (GSS) teams supporting each unit.
