Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Special Events Intern plays a crucial role in supporting the events and hospitality division by aiding in the marketing and execution of various special occasions, both on-site and off-site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Acts as the primary contact for all inquiries related to special events.

· Ensures timely responses to phone and email communications, providing exceptional service while discussing event possibilities.

· Maintains the company calendar and informs team members about upcoming events.

· Aids in the setup and management of group tours and private events.

· Contributes to the promotion and organization of festivals and events.

· Prepares necessary materials for off-site events.

· Travels to various locations to assist in the execution of events.

· Engages with customers, manages transactions, and serves wine during on-site events.

· Participates in all relevant staff meetings regarding special events.

· Updates and maintains the marketing database with customer information.

· Follows up with clients post-event by sending appreciation and feedback emails.

· Keeps the musician database current with relevant details.

· Assists in research initiatives aimed at enhancing event success and profitability.

· Supports the management of the Creekbend Farmhouse.

· Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in event planning or related fields.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in public speaking and customer service.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and situational awareness.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to the nature of the business.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a temporary internship position. The expected schedule is approximately 40 hours per week, with varying shifts throughout the week, including evenings and weekends.

COMPENSATION:

Special Events Interns receive a stipend of $3500 for the duration of the internship, based on a 40-hour work week for 14 weeks.

CLASSIFICATION:

Seasonal, exempt (stipend salary).
