POSITION OVERVIEW

The role involves maintaining and repairing the physical structures of hotel facilities and ensuring the upkeep of the grounds through various tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning various internal areas of the hotel, including storage and mechanical rooms, parking areas, public spaces, banquet facilities, and guest accommodations, which involves buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and managing waste disposal.
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or faulty components such as switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
  • Replacing damaged parts in machinery and equipment, including vehicles and cleaning devices.
  • Monitoring and adjusting hotel swimming pools to ensure proper sanitation and chemical balance.
  • Maintaining the landscape by mowing lawns, trimming weeds, and planting flowers.
  • Repairing surfaces such as parking lots and sidewalks using asphalt and concrete materials.
  • Operating snow removal equipment to keep parking areas and walkways clear.
  • Repairing, painting, or replacing interior building surfaces including walls and trim.
  • Assisting other departments with moving furniture and managing supplies.
  • Providing friendly service to guests and promptly addressing any maintenance issues to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure timely responses to guest service requests.
  • Contributing to the security of the property, including safeguarding tools, equipment, and guest belongings.
  • Utilizing materials and tools safely to minimize waste and prevent accidents.
  • Participating in safety and preventative maintenance programs to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assisting with the setup and cleanup of banquet and meeting spaces as required.
  • Running errands and providing transportation as needed to support business operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. All employees must follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Frequent reaching, climbing, bending, and lifting may be necessary. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT: The ability to handle crises calmly and effectively is required, including situations involving upset guests or emergencies.
