Position Overview:
LaBella Associates is actively seeking a dedicated Sustainability Engineer to enhance our expanding, multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will take charge of managing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) essential for real estate transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Entering and overseeing sites in the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP), including Site Characterizations and Remedial Investigations.
  • Conducting Remedial Alternative Analysis and Remedial Design work.
  • Executing remediation projects with a focus on effective and sustainable solutions.

Experience in evaluating feasibility and costs, along with detailed design for excavation and off-site disposal projects, is essential. Familiarity with in-situ chemical injections, sub-slab depressurization systems, and other remediation techniques is required.

The role involves collaboration with junior engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists to:

  • Design and manage fieldwork, including groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water sampling.
  • Evaluate field and laboratory data and supervise contractors and drillers.
  • Support the preparation and review of reports produced by junior staff.

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for:

  • Cost estimation, proposal preparation, invoicing, and client relationship management.
  • Maintaining effective communication with project team members, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Upholding professional standards and adhering to the firm's QA/QC policies.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical or Environmental).
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer in New York State.
  • 7-15 years of relevant experience in local environmental roles.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:
