Position Overview

The Mutual Group is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Director, Reinsurance Operations. In this capacity, you will oversee the comprehensive management of reinsurance programs for designated members, ensuring the precision of submission data, fostering relationships with brokers and reinsurers, and facilitating the execution of reinsurance transactions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Steer the treaty renewal process in collaboration with the broker team.
  • Evaluate data to determine reinsurance requirements.
  • Coordinate requests for data and information to aid in submission preparation.
  • Organize and conduct reinsurer audits and site visits.
  • Lead facultative placements as necessary.
  • Provide stakeholders with regular updates on key reinsurance metrics, including aggregations, collateral requirements, receivable status, and recovery timelines.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure operational needs are met and stakeholders are consistently informed.
  • Guarantee the effective execution of reinsurance accounting, contract implementation, invoice processing, and recovery of reinsured losses.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of reinsurance programs, including forecasting Ceded Premiums for planning and quarterly assessments, as well as evaluating individual reinsurer profit/loss positions.
  • Conduct various internal and external reporting and analysis, including Schedule P and Schedule F preparation, document retention, and journal entries.
  • Review, document, facilitate, and recommend diverse contract wordings, agreements, and addendums related to the reinsurance program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in reinsurance, with a preference for additional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of property and casualty reinsurance.
  • Strong grasp of reinsurance accounting principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Compensation:

  • Salary range of $99,900 - $166,500 based on experience, with eligibility for bonuses.
  • Salary range of $110,100 - $183,500 based on experience in specific states, with eligibility for bonuses.
