Job Overview

The Information Technology Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing computer systems and networks. This position involves collaboration with IT personnel across different shifts to implement updates, install systems, and address work orders through the IT ticketing system.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance ERP processes.
  • Address Client/User/IT/Communication inquiries effectively.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to manufacturing software and equipment.
  • Escalate concerns to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance to plant and office staff during operational hours.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets.
  • Install and set up new systems while reallocating older equipment as needed.
  • Ensure robust security measures, user access controls, and virus protection for relevant applications.
  • Perform additional IT-related tasks as required by the organization.
  • Work in both office and production environments, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Engage in moderate physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting in the production area, while office tasks primarily involve sitting and using a computer.
  • Resolve IT issues that disrupt production processes under the guidance of Operations/Production management and the IT Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or accredited certification in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in IT roles related to ERP processes.
  • Experience with NYSUS is advantageous.
  • Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software networking technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Action-oriented with a high energy level and focus on results.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Dependable and communicative work approach.
