About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Specialist to join our team at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where you will be responsible for overseeing the development and use of data systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and use of data systems, identifying and developing efficient ways to organize, store, and analyze data while ensuring security and confidentiality.
  • Manage and improve processes to enable dynamic problem solving through advanced data analytics.
  • Oversee the development and use of data systems using appropriate leadership and collaboration.
  • Ensure successful implementation and delivery of requested support applications using agile project management.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Formulate management techniques for quality data collection and analysis to ensure accuracy, adequacy, and legitimacy of data.
  • Policy Enforcement: Create and enforce policies to ensure effective data management.
  • Dataset Development: Develop, describe, analyze, and validate datasets.
  • Technical Validation: Verify and correct data, models, and reports.
  • Tool Implementation: Implement, upgrade, and develop data management and visualization tools.
  • Data Interpretation: Interpret data and analyze results using technical statistics.
  • Data Acquisition: Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases.
  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels, and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with international team members from Mazda and Toyota or other customers.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve team's performance.
  • Develop and deliver effective communication to inform management and team members of critical information related to relevant data programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal requirements.
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally).
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience in an equivalent role or internal demonstrated experience.
  • High analytical skills.
  • Well-developed technical and computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Time management skills.
  • Collaboration Environment: Create an environment that fosters collaboration, efficiency, and effective project execution.
  • SDLC Involvement: Contribute to every step of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including defining problems, creating solutions, and developing final solutions.
  • Risk Management: Manage product and project risks.
  • Ability to build rapport with team members regardless of level within the organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Information Systems Management.
  • 5 years' supervisory experience in an equivalent role or internal demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with Lean Manufacturing Principles (such as TPS or Mazda One).
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP).
