Job Overview

We are seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer to join our team at OMNIVISION. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and relevant experience in the field of reliability engineering.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field, with coursework focused on semiconductor physics and electronics.
  • Familiarity with electronic component reliability standards such as JEDEC and AEC-Q100 is advantageous.
  • Experience in wafer-level reliability testing is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and troubleshoot hardware for evaluating product reliability under biased conditions.
  • Assess and qualify CMOS Imaging Sensor (CIS) products for large-scale production.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to evaluate, characterize, and enhance CIS fabrication processes.
  • Work alongside R&D, design, process, packaging, and product engineers to validate new process technologies, ensuring design quality meets customer reliability standards.
  • Prepare internal summaries for product qualification and evaluation projects.
  • Present findings and product-related issues in meetings.
  • Draft and distribute product reliability release documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in designing reliability hardware and developing necessary infrastructure.
  • Basic understanding of CMOS technology.
  • Experience in IC component and package reliability qualification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of wafer-level reliability testing is desirable.
  • Familiarity with foundry reliability testing metrics for front-end and back-end processes.
  • Previous exposure to component engineering is beneficial.
  • Understanding of commercial and automotive reliability standards (JEDEC, AEC) is a plus.
  • Awareness of reliability failure modes, mechanisms, and analysis techniques for IC components is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.

The expected annual base salary for this position in California is between $131,200 and $170,100, depending on skills and experience.
