Operations Assistant Supervisor at MFI

POSITION OVERVIEW

Manage and engage in operational activities within the warehouse for wholesale distribution, encompassing receiving, inventory oversight, and dispatch, along with the upkeep of equipment and facilities. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and loss prevention measures.

This role is exempt from overtime regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, manage, and actively participate in warehouse operations to provide exceptional service to customers.
  • Oversee and assist with receiving shipments, restocking inventory, managing stock levels, preparing orders, and handling shipping and returns.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and assess team members.
  • Ensure regular cycle counts are conducted.
  • Maintain high standards of work quality among warehouse personnel.
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained to uphold safety standards, minimize loss, and reflect a professional image.
  • May need to support delivery drivers as required.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service consistently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical requirements: The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands for handling objects, reaches with arms, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; must occasionally lift items weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
  • Required protective gear includes steel or composite toe boots, safety vests, harnesses, seatbelts, and self-retracting lifelines. All equipment is provided by MFI, except for the steel/composite toe boots.
  • Work environment: Employees may encounter various weather conditions while performing job duties. The noise level is typically moderate, with potential exposure to fumes from tires and automotive parts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management and logistics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of business and financial principles.
  • Ability to execute plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Familiarity with material handling and inventory management.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a strategic approach.
  • Ability to influence others through coaching and collaborative leadership.
  • Accountability monitoring to drive optimal performance.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Appreciates diverse perspectives and contributions from team members.
  • Ability to present a positive image to clients.
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications.
  • Capable of lifting up to 65 lbs regularly.
  • Experience operating warehouse machinery.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening (THC/marijuana is not tested).
