Operations Assistant Supervisor Position at MFI

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage and engage in operational tasks within the warehouse for wholesale distribution, which includes receiving shipments, overseeing inventory, and ensuring effective distribution while maintaining equipment and facility standards. Adhere to all safety protocols and loss prevention measures.

This role is exempt.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, manage, and actively participate in warehouse operations to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Supervise and assist with receiving goods, restocking, inventory management, order preparation, and the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and assess team members.
  • Ensure accurate cycle counting procedures are followed.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for the work performed by warehouse personnel.
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained to promote safety, prevent loss, and uphold a professional company image.
  • May be required to support delivery drivers as needed.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical demands: The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands to manipulate objects, reaches with arms, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; must occasionally lift items weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
  • Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt, self-retracting lifeline. All equipment is provided by MFI except for steel/composite toe boots.
  • Work environment: The employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate, with potential exposure to fumes from tires and automotive lubricants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years in fleet management and logistics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of business and financial principles.
  • Ability to execute plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Familiarity with material handling and inventory documentation.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a strategic approach.
  • Ability to influence others through effective coaching and leadership.
  • Monitor accountability to drive optimal performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and seeks continuous improvement through feedback.
  • Values diverse perspectives and contributions from team members.
  • Projects a positive image to customers.
  • Proficient in relevant computer software.
  • Able to lift up to 65 lbs frequently.
  • Capable of operating warehouse equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening (excluding THC/marijuana).
