Logistics Operations Supervisor Position at MFI
POSITION SUMMARY
Manage and engage in logistics functions for wholesale distribution, encompassing receiving, inventory oversight, and dispatching, along with the upkeep of equipment and facilities. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and loss prevention measures.
This role is exempt.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, manage, and engage in logistics operations to provide exceptional customer service
- Supervise and assist in receiving, restocking, inventory management, order preparation, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, shipping orders, and handling product returns
- Recruit, train, develop, and assess team members
- Ensure accurate cycle counting is performed
- Maintain the quality of work by logistics staff
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks
- Maintain the physical facility to guarantee safety, prevent loss, and uphold a professional company image
- May be required to support delivery drivers as needed
- Deliver outstanding customer service consistently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physical demands: The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift items weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
- Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt, SRL (self-retracting lifeline). All equipment is provided by MFI except for steel/composite toe boots.
- Work environment: The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with fumes associated with logistics operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience in fleet management and logistics
- 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of business and financial principles
- Ability to execute and develop plans to achieve business metrics
- Knowledgeable in material handling and inventory documentation
- Strong decision-making skills with a strategic approach
- Ability to influence others through coaching, servant leadership, collaboration, and employee engagement
- Monitors accountability to drive results for optimal performance
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrates self-awareness by utilizing feedback and reflection for continuous improvement
- Values diverse perspectives and cultural backgrounds of team members
- Ability to project a positive image to customers
- Proficient in relevant computer software
- Able to lift up to 65 lbs frequently
- Able to operate warehouse equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (not testing for THC/marijuana)
