About The Role:As a licensed family counselor at Sandstone Care, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing therapeutic support through individual and family counseling sessions, utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Leading group therapy sessions for diverse populations, including young adults, adolescents, parents, and siblings, focusing on themes such as coping strategies, communication skills, boundary setting, and relapse prevention.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and fellow therapists to coordinate care and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Documenting and tracking client progress, treatment strategies, and discharge plans through electronic health records and other documentation tools.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and supervision
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Professional: Must possess a master's degree in a relevant discipline and hold the necessary Colorado licensure, such as (LPC, LCSW, LMFT - Provisional Licenses like LPCC, LMSW, MFTC will also be considered).
  • Experience in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment: Previous experience in SUD treatment is preferred, especially with a focus on family therapy.
  • Crisis Intervention Skills: Ability to provide essential support to clients during crises, equipped with effective verbal de-escalation techniques.
    • All direct care staff must be CPR-certified prior to beginning employment
  • Team-Oriented Mindset: Demonstrate a collaborative spirit and actively contribute to our mission of fostering positive change.
  • Group Facilitation Skills: Comfortable leading groups of 15 to 30 participants.
  • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
