POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Integration Coach collaborates closely with families and the Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) team to empower clients in achieving stability and self-sufficiency. This role is essential in guiding clients to access necessary resources and effectively navigate their new environment. The coach supports clients in addressing immediate needs throughout their service duration, working alongside them and other team members to realize both short-term and long-term objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as an advocate and resource for clients, ensuring equitable treatment for all client demographics in line with the agency's commitment to respect and dignity.
  • Prepare for the arrival of new clients, ensuring housing arrangements are in place and coordinating with pre-arrival teams. Welcome clients at transportation hubs and facilitate their transition to housing.
  • Collaborate with LFSRM team members to assist clients in applying for public assistance, enrolling children in educational institutions, obtaining identification documents, and accessing other necessary services.
  • Conduct educational workshops, both individually and in groups, focusing on essential life skills such as public transportation usage and financial management.
  • Work closely with team members to coordinate logistics for various appointments, including benefit interviews and health consultations. Arrange transportation for clients when needed and secure interpreter services to ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate support.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide necessary support and monitor progress throughout the service period. Offer resources and referrals to community partners.
  • Document all client interactions and services accurately and promptly, ensuring high-quality case file maintenance.
  • Compile and submit required data for various reports in a timely and precise manner.
  • Serve as a liaison with community partners regarding refugee resettlement inquiries, fostering mutual understanding between the community and clients.
  • Coordinate services with key staff to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Participate in staff meetings and local networks focused on refugee assistance.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives that promote the mission and objectives of the Refugee and Asylee Programs.
  • Adhere to the high standards and service delivery expectations set by Lutheran Family Services, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and relevant state and federal agencies.
  • Comply with all applicable contracts and regulations.
  • Exhibit an organized and proactive approach to client services, program reporting, and inter-agency communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with limited English proficiency.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical functions and capable of explaining concepts to clients for whom English is not the primary language.
  • Functional fluency in one or more foreign languages is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and deliver presentations.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making, and conflict mediation.
  • Punctuality in attending work, appointments, and report deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto liability insurance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree or two years of college education; or two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
