The organization operates outpatient clinics in Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County, and Baldwin County, offering a range of services including behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment and treatment.

We are seeking an experienced Group Leader/Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at one of these locations.

This role will involve acting as a client advocate, coordinating required services, and resolving emergency problems in crises.

Responsibilities will include collecting information about clients through interviews and observations, utilizing skills training in individual and group sessions, and developing treatment plans based on clinical experience.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of client records, evaluating clients' conditions, and monitoring their progress according to treatment plans.

Maintaining safety and security standards, completing documentation via electronic medical records (EMR), and performing other duties as assigned are also key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or resolve emergency problems in crises.
  • Collects information about clients through interviews and observations.
  • Utilizes skills training with clients in both individual and group sessions to help them overcome deficiencies, recover from illness, and better adjust to life.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Ensures confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Evaluates clients' physical or mental condition based on a review of information.
  • Monitors evaluates and records client progress according to measurable goals described in the treatment and care plans.
  • Ensures the safety and security of clients and coworkers, with a good knowledge of agency safety policies and procedures.
  • Completes documentation via EMR on time.
  • Facilitates group therapy sessions, providing guidance, support, and structure to participants.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to group therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to therapeutic goals and objectives.
  • Conducts assessments of group dynamics and adjusts interventions as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Implements evidence-based practices and interventions tailored to the specific needs of group participants.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of group therapy sessions and participant progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.
