We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join our Real Estate and Operations legal team at a leading tech company. The successful candidate will support the legal department and collaborate with various teams, including portfolio management, design and construction, property operations, energy and sustainability, and global procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate global and local agreements for procurement of equipment, materials, and services related to data center properties.
  • Develop and review data center property and operational documents, including design and construction agreements, energy procurement agreements, and other related contracts.
  • Provide internal clients with sound advice on risks, legal terms, and negotiation strategy regarding property development, ownership, and operations.
  • Advise on joint venture arrangements, easements, development entitlements, environmental matters, sustainability arrangements, and energy procurement.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review construction and design contracts, service agreements, and procurement agreements domestically and internationally.
  • Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently, including local counsel and specialized counsel.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school; license in good standing with at least one state bar (with eligibility for in-house counsel registration if necessary).
  • 5-10 years of relevant substantive legal experience (law firm and/or corporate legal department, with a preference for experience at an internationally recognized law firm).

Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of real estate and operations law, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role will be based in the Bay Area or Dallas, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office per week.
