ROLE OBJECTIVE:

Oversee the physical deployment of communication systems across all designated projects. Collaborate with the project team to guarantee that safety and quality standards are upheld by following industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviewing Project Information: Engage with key personnel to clarify inquiries and uncertainties as necessary.
  • Planning Projects: Assess potential challenges, their implications, and solutions. Coordinate resources, site access, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and necessary equipment with the Project Manager as needed.
  • Customer Project Review: Discuss system functionality, timelines, and plans with clients. Conduct site evaluations to confirm locations and identify safety risks.
  • Project Kick-Off Meetings: Ensure comprehension of the project plan and review all milestones. Conduct site evaluations to confirm locations and identify safety risks whenever feasible.
  • Executing the Project Plan:
    • Lead and adhere to the daily project work plan, including safe work practices and requirements.
    • Conduct regular site assessments, safety inspections, and quality checks to ensure compliance with the project plan.
    • Communicate any changes in the scope of work to the assigned Project Lead/Project Manager and adjust the project plan as necessary.
    • Inspect project installations to meet quality standards, rectify discrepancies, mentor responsible parties, and report recurring issues when necessary.
    • Create a project punch list, conduct system testing, coordinate client training, and ensure the completion of documentation.
    • Perform basic programming, configuration, and connect physical systems to the network as assigned.
    • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members on-site.
  • Project Closure: Conduct client walk-throughs when possible. Submit documentation, secure client sign-off, and confirm project completion for all assigned projects.
  • Post-Project Meetings: Provide feedback to the Project Manager regarding project management processes, procedures, tools, and areas for improvement. Offer recommendations to Sales and Engineering on enhancement opportunities and project successes.
  • Service Support: Responsible for completing service tickets as assigned and supporting the company's 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

  • The Systems Specialist supervises the project team during assigned projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology within Communications Engineering Company or a similar organization.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience within Communications Engineering Company or a similar organization.
  • 3 safety-related certifications (preferred).
  • 2 industry certifications (e.g., NICET, Bicsi, CTS, etc.) (preferred).
  • Industry certifications and training may be obtained during the first year of employment to meet minimum qualifications when applicable.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication skills and general knowledge of construction or mechanical systems are essential.
  • Familiarity with communication systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
  • Proficiency in PC usage (Windows environment) and working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Problem-solving abilities, creativity, and the capacity to exercise sound judgment based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Effective communication skills in English are required.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, sitting, and using hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate.
  • Most work is performed indoors, but occasional outdoor activities may be subject to seasonal temperature variations.
